My Story
Hiiiii!! I'm Brittany and I am so honored that you have chosen me to be your Scentsy consultant! Every single order makes me do a little happy dance!! I appreciate you all so, so much!!
When I first joined Scentsy in September 2016, I was a stay at home mom with a 9-month old little boy, named Leonardo. I had worked all throughout my pregnancy up until giving birth and the plan was always to go back to work after Leo came. When he was here something changed. My whole world changed. I was obsessed with all of the baby cuddles and baby giggles and I didn't want to miss any of them! I also didn't want to miss any of his firsts. I knew going back to work would result in me missing important milestones in his life. My husband, Andrew and I discussed all of the benefits of me being home with him and how that was the right decision for us, however there was still a lot of pressure to go back to work because we did need the money. Andrew's income was enough to pay the bills, but we never had any money leftover for the fun things. We were the definition of living paycheck to paycheck.
I started researching different work at home opportunities and direct sales stood out. I made the decision to join a direct sales company to be able to stay home with my baby and still bring home an income. Now I needed to decide which direct sales company to join! I was researching tons of them, when my cousin Montana had an online Scentsy party. I had never tried the product, but it all seemed like a GENIUS idea! Leo was at the age where he was just learning to pull himself up onto the furniture and there was a very real possibility of him grabbing a candle and pulling it down on himself. I looked up the starter kit and everything you got with it and decided I was going to jump on in. The absolute worst case scenario, I got a warmer, a bar and 80+ wax testers to be able to use in my warmer, plus some other products- which was more than I was planning on buying from the party anyway. Win/Win scenario.
Fast forward to now and why I have stayed with Scentsy for so long.
1. The products! I seriously use every product we offer and I love being able to make my home, car and my entire life smell good! Fragrance is so important to me and I get to share my love of fragrance with so many people in my life! What a blessing! Not only that, but because our products are consumable, people fall in love and need more. As long as I'm doing my job and following up with my customers, they come back to me again and again.
2. The community! My little sister, Vivienne died suddenly in September 2015 when I was pregnant with Leonardo. A year before I joined Scentsy. My life without her felt incredibly lonely. I wasn't ever supposed to do this thing called life without her. We were supposed to go through life together. Be moms together. Grow old together. Share reminders of our childhood together. Being without her was a struggle. The Scentsy community takes you in as family. I have met so many people who I would have never met without Scentsy. Some of my best friends are also Scentsy consultants. I worked a commission job when I was younger and it always felt like a competition between coworkers. With Scentsy, it isn't a competition. We are all in this together and want to see everyone succeed. Everyone pours into each other and lifts each other up. It is the community that I needed, but didn't know I needed.
3. The purpose! Even though I chose to be a SAHM and loved it with my entire being, it also felt very mundane at times. Like my entire purpose in life was diapers and dishes. Now with Scentsy I have goals that I set and work hard to accomplish. I have a future with Scentsy and goals to retire my husband and both do Scentsy full time. I have goals to live the life I want. Buy what I want. Go where I want. Do what I want. All of this is possible with Scentsy.
Now my life looks differently than when I started. I had another little boy in November 2019, named Sawyer Jay. Jay was my dad's name who passed away in June 2019 when I was pregnant with Sawyer. Andrew and I just bought our first home in December 2020. I also earned my first incentive trip in December 2020 and was able to take Andrew, Leonardo, Sawyer and my mom to Walt Disney World in Florida in June 2021! This was the trip of a lifetime and absolutely would not have been possible without Scentsy. Scentsy pulls out all of the stops on these incentive trips, including closing down the parks just for us, private fireworks shows, meals, private meet and greets with Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Donald, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale! It was such a blast and a trip we will all remember forever.
If you have read this far, I would like to end with my gratitude for all of you. The life I'm living absolutely would not be possible without the amazing and loyal customers I have. I seriously am so grateful for all of you. I can't imagine my life without Scentsy and I couldn't do this without all of you. Thank you for making my life what it is today!
